      I'm not entirely sure on that, but I don't think it would really matter. That said, I would shut the pump off and drain (at least partially) the line by opening a faucet.

    That little device is what destroyed my waste tank a year ago. Pump out sucked the charcoal out of the filter (i assume because it was old) which plugged the vent line and the marina ultimately crushed the tank with vacuum pressure. $4500 later, I am enjoying a brand new waste tank and water heater that also was showing it's age. The filter is now a periodic maintenance item.

We learned that a few days later when rafting with friends at a beautiful Georgian Bay anchorage and our neighbor starting yelling that our boat was peeing over the side 😳 Yes, the vent filter was compromised and we had to weigh anchor earlier than expected to go get a complete pump out 🙄

    Hi, just came across this video, very helpful all of them, I have a question, we just upgraded from a 27’ to a 33’ sea ray, we do have a working a/c on the boat but there’s no air coming through the bathroom and aft vents, what I noticed is the ac duct is connected to the main cabin only, and a little more down there’s another ac duct that feeds the bathroom and the aft but that is not connected to the a/c , I wonder if I can just connect it to the same duct that is already there, thank you , I liking forward your advice

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo 5 днів тому

      @fannierodriguez6512 From what I recall, our 1998 model year 330 Sundancer only had had vent outlets in the forward vee berth, one in the main cabin (over the galley sink) and one in the head. Nothing in the aft cabin at all. Given that the boat was serviced by a single 12,000 BTU unit, pushing additional air all the way back would have made the entire system very inefficient. We sold that boat in 2021 and upgraded the following year to our current 370 Dancer, which has a 12,000 BTU in the forward vee berth, plus a brand new 6,000 BTU unit in the aft cabin. In case you missed it, I have a long winded, full replacement video for that retrofit 6,000 unit on my channel.

    We finally had some light rain here in Ohio on Sunday morning. It was not very much but we are so dry after a very wet spring that we needed the rain....and more!

      We've been getting rain, rain and more rain. So much so that the lake level hasn't even dropped yet - normally would have seen a drop of 5 or 6" by this time . . .

    Hi , how you doing ? Do you recommend a good marina for a 40 feet ?

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo 8 днів тому

      There are a number of marinas on Lake Simcoe that can accommodate a 40' boat, but not all of them are able or willing to provide good service for their customers. I would strongly suggest driving through a few and talking to the current customers to get their impressions of the management, as well as the services provided. Good luck in your search!

      I mentioned to Anchor Girl that I should just pull our boat ahead to be out in the open for a good wash 😅

    That was actually a quite beautiful the relationship between the intense storm the calm dry of being under cover and the warm light coming from the cockpit and cabin very comforting. Thanks for the post

      Yes, a covered slip has its advantages, as well as some drawbacks.

    Upper midwest got 5 inches in mere 2 hours with up to 60 mph gusts last evening. Some boats got caught up in it so i guess lesson learned to stay tuned to weather and obey all watches and warnings

    It just looked so cozy in the boat during that storm. Minus that tornado watch that is. 😂

      Cozy enough, considering that nothing blew away in those winds 😅

    Benefit of having a covered slip is being out of the rain. They aren’t very popular here in NW Ohio.

      Yes, but being in open slips previously allowed for a good boat wash courtesy of Mother Nature 😉

    A few years ago (Chesapeake Bay), we were staying in a covered slip when a storm (tornado watch) came through. It seemed like the wind was funneling through the covered slip area. After the storm was over, we had to clean leaves off of the boat from trees that were several hundred feet away. Kinda scary. Looks like y'all did a lot better.

      We were safe and there was no damage, so that's a good thing. That said, it would have been nice if Boogaboo was out in the open to get a thorough rinsing 🫧
